Cencori Commits to Building Energy-Efficient Inference Infrastructure for Africa

Cencori is committing to build energy-efficient inference infrastructure for Africa, the computing foundation that AI models and agents run on, built and operated on the continent.
Today, most AI used by African businesses runs on infrastructure far outside Africa. That means higher costs, slower responses and data that leaves the continent. As AI moves into banking, payments, healthcare and government, where that data lives and who controls the infrastructure matters more and more.
Cencori is building the alternative across three layers:
- The platform. This is where companies build, deploy and run AI agents, with models, memory, tools, security and monitoring in one place. Developers can deploy agents to a live address on Cencori.
- ENX inference. This layer serves leading open models from infrastructure in Africa, so customers keep their data close and get faster responses.
- ENX silicon. This is a long-term programme to design inference chips built for efficiency, to deliver more AI per watt and per naira.
"Africa shouldn't have to rent its intelligence from somewhere else," said Bola Banjo, CEO of Cencori. "We're building the computing infrastructure AI runs on, here, efficiently, and for the long term. This is a decade-long commitment, and we're starting now."
Cencori will share more on infrastructure partners, early customers and the ENX roadmap in the coming months.
