Tools
What an agent can do beyond answering: built-in system tools, your own webhooks, connected apps and MCP servers.
Tools let the agent act: take a booking, send a payment link, place an order, hand a customer to your team. Open the agent's Tools page. It has three tabs: Configure, Integrations and MCP.
System tools
Built in. Switch them on under Configure:
Each system tool has a description you can edit to tell the agent when to use it, for example "Only take payments for event tables, not regular bookings."
Transfer to a person
You give a hand-off URL and, optionally, rules for when to hand off. When it triggers, Cencori sends a POST to your URL:
{
"type": "agent.transfer_to_human",
"created_at": "2026-10-26T14:03:11.000Z",
"agent": { "id": "…", "name": "Host" },
"surface": "whatsapp",
"conversation_id": "…",
"person": { "name": "Ada", "contact": "+2348012345678" },
"summary": "Wants to book the terrace for 30 people on Saturday.",
"transcript": [{ "role": "user", "content": "…" }, { "role": "assistant", "content": "…" }]
}Point it at Slack, Zapier, Make or your own endpoint.
Webhook tools
Your own HTTPS endpoints, called mid-conversation. Under Configure → Add tool, give it:
- A name and a description of when to use it and what it returns. The agent decides from the description, so be specific.
- A method:
GET,POST,PUT,PATCHorDELETE. - The URL, and any headers (for an API key). Header values are encrypted, and copies of the agent made from the marketplace can't read them.
- Inputs: name, type (string, number or boolean), description, and whether it's required.
GET and DELETE send the inputs as a query string; the others send them as a JSON body. The agent reads the response and answers from it.
Limits: 20 tools per agent, 20 inputs and 10 headers per tool, 10 seconds per call, and the first 8,000 characters of the response go to the agent.
Integrations
Connect apps your business already uses, and the agent can work with them: Google Calendar for bookings, WooCommerce for your store's products and orders, and more. Click Add integration, pick the app and sign in.
The Integrations tab is also where you connect a payment provider and add your products.
MCP servers
Add any remote MCP server by URL. If the server needs you to sign in, Cencori opens its sign-in page and keeps the agent connected; otherwise add headers (for an API key). Cencori discovers the server's tools, and you switch on the ones the agent may use. Use Refresh tools when the server adds new ones.
