When people first encounter Cencori, the most obvious surface is the AI gateway.
That makes sense.
The gateway is the part you can point to immediately: one API, multi-provider routing, observability, security controls, failover, model access, caching, and cost visibility. It is concrete. It is easy to understand. It is where many teams begin. It is what we currently have.
But it is not the full product.

We are not minimizing the gateway layer.

What We Believe Cencori Should Become
We believe the gateway is the right place to start.

Cencori is being built toward a broader role:

- attaching policy and security to execution
- turning usage into billing and revenue controls

- carrying AI products from request handling into deployment and operations
That does not mean trying to become a generic platform for every category of software.
It means becoming more central to the lifecycle of AI products.
That is the line that matters.
The Gateway Is the Entry Point
The easiest way to misunderstand this category is to assume the gateway is the finished product.
We do not think it is.
We think it is the entry point.
It is where AI products start to become governed, measurable, and controllable.
But the real platform opportunity is what happens next:

- after usage needs to become billing
- after workflows become stateful
- after runtime and deployment become part of the conversation

The longer-term goal is to build the operating infrastructure layer AI products rely on in production, with the categories around them working as one connected system rather than a pile of disconnected tools.
